November Agitation

A short account of my recent toils that cannot be expressed in this small paragraph: For weeks, I've been attempting to fix my HP Pavilion Elite desktop computer from that famous nvlddmkm.sys error on my Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Recently contacting HP, I've ordered recovery discs that has given me even more extreme cases of the error (I have a very severe version of nvlddmkm involving BSODs, my monitor losing the signal from my computer and mass pixelation on my computer screen) after I've used them and I'm finally getting a replacement video card from HP, hooray. Although I'm not sure if it'll fix the problem I'm hoping for the best (my same reaction to the recovery discs when a technician promised me that the problem would not persist). So far my computer can't even reach the desktop without a BSOD or pixelation!! You can't imagine how irritated I've been feeling these past weeks!

P.S. I've actually first experienced this problem half a year ago in late March, three days after I purchased the computer. I had it fixed in staples easy tech for $70 (brr...) and half a year later in October... :(

...I really hate nvlddmkm. I hate it with a passion. I'm aware that it's a particular problem with NVIDIA graphics cards (I've heard that occurs in the ATI brand also) and I'm hoping that a new video card will fix the problem (I had all my NVIDIA drivers up to date though...).

Spanish Enriched

I'm taking Spanish enriched along with some freshmen in my school. I've just realized that the people taking Spanish enriched is going to take the second year of Spanish next year along with the classes that are learning Spanish for the first time. That's ridiculous, shouldn't kids like me who've taken two of Spanish in middle school get a different class in high school instead of being paired up with kids who've never touched the language before? What's the difference of taking Spanish enrichment or the first year of Spanish if we're all ending up with the same education? :( I already passed the Spanish proficiency test with over a 90... If only I took that Spanish placement exam in June more seriously... *grumble*

Here's a quick overview of what I did during the summer and recently.

Two months ago (June-July): A month long trip to China. Did a lot of exciting things that is blog worthy, but I'm too blog-lazy. :P

One month ago (August): Last days of summer09... :(

A week ago: Freshman week at Stuyvesant High School.

Now: A test tomorrow in Global History.

Stuyvesant thoughts: Darn! I have to continue taking Spanish. I have no love for the language and no interest for it. I envy my friend who began Japanese. At least my hard work in middle school will not be wasted... :(

-I don't have time anymore. It was with me a few weeks ago, but now I have to keep my eyes close on the clock. *sigh* High school...

Bad Luck 8/21/09

Today I stepped on gum while wearing a pair of black Crocs. It got below my heel and I had to walk by stepping on the gum barefoot over and over again. I spent the first half of the afternoon washing it with a hose and a toothbrush in my yard. Luckily Crocs are waterproof so I didn't have to wait too long for it to dry in the sun...until it rained...HARD. I rushed back into the house with my black Crocs, dry. ^_^

P.S. Damn those who spit gum on the floor.

S1mply on Combat Arms

Recently I've searched up my username, logan777333, on Google images and discovered a screenshot of me on Combat Arms. He was reporting me as a hacker to Nexon (the producer of the game) and claimed that I used Aimbot.

I remember I played that game in Death Room during May 2009 with Opieomeomy, a buddy I acquired that day. S1mply had accused me for hacking and Opieomeomy backed me up throughout the game. I know him for being especially social during our matches; he chats a lot and his remarks were always humorous. Unfortunately I haven't seen him on lately... :( .

If you look at the screen shot and read his description, you'll realize that I've gotten eighty kills and five deaths. However I'm not ranked as number one of my team. The same is applied to S1mply for his thirty kills and five deaths. The ranking is based on flag captures and recoveries labeled under Mission. I made two flag captures and no flag recoveries, but Opieomeomy had the same flag captures, but four more flag recoveries. I didn't hack/glitch at all during this game and it was the first time I touched the eighty kill mark! My superb performance was only possible because it was a Capture the Flag match, not a straight forward Elimination. Still I wasn't surprised when I found this report, since S1mply swore that he'd report me. Luckily I wasn't kicked off my account the next morning. I guess S1mply never got his revenge. ^_^

P.S. If you read his report on me, he claims that I get headshots for every kill. Three of S1mply's deaths were headshots made by me. That's probably what he was referring too. :)

Thats my username, logan777333. I use it for everything so people can recognize me. Some games that one might recognize me from is Call of Duty 5 World at War for the Wii (I'm in the top 10,000 players on the leaderboard!!), Combat Arms, Maplestory, Mabinogi, My Brute, The Conduit (so far I'm terrible at it), etcetera. For Aim I use flamingyuyu, but thats the only thing I use the username for. I've created a clan on Combat Arms called HeIIfire Hawks. I've began using it on Mobsters for Facebook and I plan to create a clan with that name on My Brute. If you're currently playing these games you can look for me or add me as a buddy there! ^_^ Even if you don't play these games you can still find me on many websites like Youtube or DeviantArt!

I Own a Playstation

No, I'm not talking about the Playstation 3, I'm talking about the original, also known as the PSX. I had one since I was five and stuck with it until I got my Wii when I was twelve. I LOVE my Playstation. I still have it plugged onto a fifty-two inch LCD television! I still have my Final Fantasy 7 in my collection of Playstation games (it'll always be my favorite game!! ^_^)! I never got a second generation game console, nor did I mind. I've stuck with my Playstation for seven years. To me the Playstation is a nostalgic childhood memory. My Wii will never completely replace my Playstation. Hopefully I won't lose my obsession with video games in the future...

I own a Wii

Yep, I'm a proud owner of a Nintendo Wii. ^_^ I was able to get my hands on one during its first year of release. The shortage of the console gave early fans of the Wii like me a lot of stress to find one. Luckily I was able to buy one after placing a hold on it at Toys' R' Us. I plugged it into my TV and marveled at its technology when I played Wii Sports; it was amazing how I was able to play tennis with realism inside my own home! I don't need to go to the arcade or the park. I just turn on my TV and Wii and I can play tennis as if I was really holding the racket! It doesn't have the graphics of a Playstation 3 or a Xbox 360, but I did't mind. Still, better graphics are always good... Of course I have lost my previous awe of the Wii over the two years I've owned it. I still play it frequently, but not as excessive as I've used to. I've accumulated a ton of games for my Wii. I tried to buy every official Wii accesory that came out, but it was too overwhelming and it wasn't worth it. Still I bought alot and is trying to stop myself from continue buying every Wii game made avaliable. Like that new Wii Sports Resort thats coming out! I've known about it for over a year now and is determined to get one...eventually. For now I'll work on my blog! :)

Wallet Crisis

A week before, I was riding the B2 (bus) to my friend's house in Brooklyn. Being careless on the last day of school, I was listening to my mp3 player with my friend. I was oblivious to my surroundings and did not realize that I have left my wallet on the bus when I've departed. Luckily there was a kind man on the bus who picked up my wallet in time before anyone got to it. He was playing on a red DS in the back of the bus where my friends sat. Finding my JHS ID/ Brooklyn public library card in the wallet, he went through the trouble of looking for my name on Facebook. He contacted me through the application immediately (the very same day) and made it clear to me where he was to return my wallet. Although I was suspicious at first whether his intentions were true, he later made himself clear by contacting me on Aim and describing the contents of my wallet perfectly. Two days later I was in possession of my wallet again without any part of it missing! The man didn't even need a reward when I asked if he wanted one! Of course he totally deserves it. It is rare to find honest people in society now who would return a wallet immediately after finding one. The man left me a message on Facebook on the very same day! A person with such high morals and sense of righteousness is hard to come by and I am glad that I was able to meet one. When I returned home that day with my wallet, I realized that there were still good, honest people in the world who are not corrupted by personal desires.

I've realized many times how my mp3 player impairs my sense of reality as it did during the loss of my wallet. At times I don't hear a car making a turn behind me as I cross the street when I'm listening to my mp3 player. Only moments later when I feel a chilling wind brush past my back do I realize that there was a car even remotely close to me. Normally I would have heard/felt it before it made that turn, but my mp3 player impaired my sense of reality and had me in risk of injury. I've only created a Facebook account for two weeks. Already it had come in handy. Its amazing how the Internet is not just a wealth of information, but an extensive communication system created by applications like Facebook or Blogger and is made available to people like me :) . However I've realized how a person can track every activity that occurs in another's life by using these applications. Even though I'm aware of this I still make posts on these applications because I'm proud of my daily activities, my achievements and my life. I don't need to hide anything from anybody. Anyone can open me like a book, flip my pages and read my story because I can accept my actions and every word that goes into my book.

I realize that I'm a really lucky kid to be able to get my wallet back. I really have to thank that man who was kind enough to give a kid back his wallet. If I would give advice to anyone who've lost their wallet and is confronted on Facebook or any other similar application on the Internet, based on my recent experience I would advise you to ask for the person to upload pictures or describe specific content inside your wallet. I admit that I did have a suspicion that whoever contacted me was some sort of pedophile (thanks to some paranoid friends of mine) which is to take caution of. No one should take any chances with a stranger. Even if he proves that he actually does have your wallet, you still can't really trust him can you? I mean he could still be some sort of serial rapist who found your wallet on a train (my friends' paranoia+my logic). I think what is best is that you at least go retrieve your wallet with a group of people for protection. I was only confident of the man with my wallet because I recognized him at the back of the bus who played on a red DS the day I lost my wallet which was exactly how he described himself to me (he didn't have a Facebook profile) on Aim. Still lady luck was on my side and I do have my wallet in the end..., but what if that man with the DS didn't pick up my wallet and somebody else did...what could've happened!? Well...all is well...or is it? DUN, DUN, DUN!

Junior High School Ends

I'm experiencing the last week of junior high school at this moment... for three years I went to The Bay Academy, a small junior high school set in a Jewish community in Brooklyn. It's in my neighborhood, Sheepshead Bay and I've been walking to it every morning for the past three years. The school has only a small amount of students, a factor that makes every child in the school get an appropriate amount of atttention from their teachers. One can recognize almost every other child in their grade, not just their own friends. Everyone plays a factor no matter how small in another's life. By the end of the school year one can fell their bond built with their school. Every step I've taken in the hallways, I remember and recognize. Every memory in the classroom, every conversation with my teacher is remembered and cherished in my memory. I've met many people during my experience in this school and enjoyed almost every day spent with them. I'm going to miss all my friends in the Bay Academy and hopefully I will be able to see them again in the future.

Busy Beginning

After creating this blog, I never really found time to work on it. I've been occupied with many daily demands as a student and eventually forgot about working on this blog. Although the demands of a student isn't so great, I've been using my free time to conduct other hobbies like playing Wii, drawing, reading, etcetera. Now that I've passed a milestone recently I'm now prepared to work on this blog. That milestone was the Specialized High School Exam (for New York City) which I took late last year. I've been preparing for it all summer and my hard work paid off when I received my letter of acceptance- I got into Stuyvesant High School! Back in the beginning of junior high school, I was determined to get into Stuyvesant. For two years I waited for this test's results and I'm relieved that I'm able to go to a great high school next year. I heard that Stuyvesant was one of the city's best high schools and required a lot of work. Being an hour's train ride away from the school I'm sure that next year will be stressful, but having expected to go to this high school two years earlier I'm prepared for anything. Whether life in high school is hard or not, that's next year's problem. For now I'm just living life as it comes.
